AQ5A3844Sometimes the best things in life are actually free – like the Spit to Manly walk.

Taking in bushland, sub-tropical rainforest and parts of Sydney Harbour National Park, this 10km trail is dotted with pretty bays and beaches, including Forty Baskets and Fairlight Beach, and is an amazing way to spend a half-day. It takes around fours hours to complete, but is worth doing at a lazy pace, broken by swims, scenic rest stops and picnics, so you can take in the stunning views. We went on a sunny winter’s day, starting at the Spit Bridge and ending with well-deserved beers in Manly. It’s definitely down on our to-do (again) list for summer. Can’t wait.

The hack? This walk is popular. So try get an early start and miss the crowds. This walk will remind you just how beautiful Sydney really is.
