If you’re after a fancy weekend – or day trip – out of Sydney then head south to Biota in Bowral, Southern Highlands.
Located just a little out of town, Biota is a restaurant that also happens to have 12 rooms on the same property.
The rooms are stylish and minimal, but comfortable, and make for an easy resting spot after you’ve feasted on the creative fare that the restaurant is quickly building a reputation for.
There are kitchen gardens and a big hothouse on site. Biota pride themselves on menus that take a seasonal focus, as well as supporting local growers and farmers. As such the menu is constantly changing, but is sure to be innovative and present you with flavour combinations you’ve never tried before.
If you’re making a weekend of it, take a walk or go for a ride into town and check out the local vintage and antique shops, gorge pies and pastries at Gumnut Patisserie (7 Bong Bong Street, Bowral) and grab a coffee at nearby Rush, a cafe that also roasts their own beans (Shop 4, The Grand Arcade, Bowral).
The hack? Enjoy your fill of food and wine and sleep the night a Biota with their stay and dine packages.
