Front and centre of Regent Place on the corner of George and Bathurst Street, Chefs Gallery, large neon letters that spell out their name and light up their window at night and a path for the line of diners waiting patiently out front.Also in Parramatta, Bankstown and Macquarie Shopping Centre the restaurant is packed and buzzing with busy staff and chatty diners. The walls and space dotted with pieces of Chinese contemporary art – which are for sale. At Town Hall, the current featured artist is Chinese-Australian Guo Jian, whose works are bright and bold.
Food wise, the focus at Chefs Gallery is traditional Chinese cuisine with a modern, upmarket twist. The menu is extensive and covers all bases on the seafood, vegetables and tofu, meat and poultry front. Dishes are best enjoyed shared and bring together diverse flavours that are complex and tasty.
Their bloody delicious noodles are the hero of the menu, served dry, wok fried or in soup, they are handmade on site and it’s quite a performance!
